Alec Nierinck

Owner of both the Life is Art Restaurant and -Gallery, Alec Nierinck supports emerging artists by exhibiting them in both spaces. Together with Veronika Bezdenejnykh and Charlotte Kalkman, he founded the platform of To Be Antwerp in 2015, for freshly graduated master students from Sint Lucas Antwerpen and The Royal Academy of Antwerp.

Besides his support for artists, he also has his own artistic interest. Through his photographic work he explores different forms of giving up one's control over one's own body. These are often depictions of nude bodies with references to methods of bondage.
