In the duo exhibition Lands in Between, Senne Roekens and Bernard Depuydt come together to explore how their distinct artistic backgrounds can merge into a new visual language. This exhibition represents the first step in their ongoing research, focusing on the interaction between traditional sculptural techniques and contemporary methods.
Both artists share a deep curiosity and a kind of fascination with discovering new materials and techniques, driven by a desire to explore how these elements can open new dimensions within their work. The exhibition reflects their continuous search for ways to expand their creative processes, exploring how these tools can complement their practices. Their work is driven by curiosity about how these methods might inform their creative process and offer new possibilities for shaping their individual practices.
This show marks the beginning of their collaborative journey, with each piece representing a step in their shared research. Together, they investigate how combining different approaches—whether traditional or modern—can evolve their individual practices and lead them to new possibilities in their work. This ongoing exploration is not only about the outcome but also about the process of discovery itself.
