After Lucy

After Lucy

Mitya Proost

10 January - 07 February 2026

In After Lucy, stories from past and present converge within a landscape that is both archaeological and subjective. The exhibition poses a central question: What new form of humanity emerges when we dig into our past while looking forward?

This in-between space is explored, where traces of early humans merge with contemporary faces, giving rise to a new, unnamed humanity shaped by evolution, fragments, and ever-changing stories.

The exhibition unfolds like an uncovered site: discoveries lie exposed, fragile and open to interpretation. At the same time the act of display is questioned: fragments are shifted, rearranged and removed from their usual context. It embraces constant recombination, suggesting multiple histories and possibilities of being human.

After Lucy is an imaginative revealing of who we were, who we are and who we might become — a place where the known and unknown continually reshape one another.
